On April 8th, Capt. Richard Phillips of the Maersk Alabama was taken hostage by Somali pirates off the Horn of Africa. Phillips was rescued by Navy Seals 4 days later, but the situation brought to light the danger posed by pirates in international waters.

Always move away from the sound of gunfire is rule number one. “Survivors of Virginia Tech stated that at first they didn’t think it was real or was the sound of construction. It doesn’t matter!
